The best thing you can do is vacuum carefully. Use your vacuum's suction attachment rather than a beater bar or rotating brush, which can tangle and pull fringe strands. Avoid walking directly on the fringe whenever possible, and never tuck fringe under the rug — this causes permanent creasing and accelerates deterioration.
